Brent Long leads Kandy Waters Memorial Classic

North Augusta, S.C. – (March 16, 2013) – NGA TOUR veteran Brent Long
carded a 1-under 71 in the third round of the Kandy Waters Memorial
Classic on Saturday to move atop the leaderboard at Mount Vintage
Plantation Golf Club.

After starting the third round in a tie for the lead, Long, a Western
Kentucky alum from Carthage, Tenn., posted five birdies and four bogeys
on Saturday to move into the outright lead at 4-under par. Long, who is
searching for his first NGA TOUR Pro Series victory, leads Justin Lower
by single stroke.

Lower, a former Malone University standout from Canal Fulton, Ohio, was
one of the few golfers to go low on the testy layout on Saturday. The
2013 NGA TOUR winner posted six birdies and one bogey en route to a
5-under 67 in the third round. After an opening-round 77, Lower is
8-under par over the last two rounds.

Former University of Louisville golfer Riley Wheeldon of Kissimmee,
Fla., shot a 2-under 70 in the third round to move into a tie for third
at 2-under par with Florida Southern alum Brian Richey, who fired a
1-under 71 on Saturday.

Auburn alumnus Patton Kizzire of St. Simons Island, Ga., posted a
1-under par 71 in the third round and will start Sunday in sixth place
at 1-under par, while Joseph Ida (72) and Will McCurdy (73) begin the
final round T5 at even par.

Jon Duthie (71), Jonathan Bartlett (73) and Derek Rende (74) are T8 at
1-over par. Ben Silverman (73), Paul Apyan (72) and 2013 NGA winner Jon
Curran (72) are T11 at 2-over par going into the final round.

The final round of the $200,000 Kandy Waters Memorial Classic will
begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. As usual, admission is free to the public.
