The Lutheran Men in Mission’s 13th annual Memorial Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Monticello on Saturday, September 7.
The tournament is named for Frank “Bob” White, who was instrumental in the construction of The Lutheran Church By the Lake. This is not just a men’s tournament; all are invited to participate.
Get a foursome together (men, women, mixed) and join in the fun. The $65 registration fee includes green and cart fees, door prizes as well as a dinner at Hickory Knob State Park Barn that evening. Additional dinner tickets are available for $20. Team applications are available at either the Tara or Monticello pro shops or online at lcbtl.org.
Golfers will shotgun start at 10 a.m. with a captain’s choice, best ball format. At the onsite registration raffle tickets will be sold for cash, clubs, bags, paintings and other items. Also there will be a 50/50 raffle at registration and door prizes can be picked up after play. After play, each team will receive a pitcher of beer. There will be beverage carts on the course during play as well as snacks at hole No. 4. Team pictures will also be taken at hole No. 4 and a copy emailed to team captains.
Special holes include a hole in one chance for a golf cart, move-up, gift certificates at PF Chang for accurate driving and an eagle for landing in a circle.
Last year’s tournament supported the McCormick Children’s home, the Kinard Home for Homeless Vets in Greenwood, the River of Life program in Lincolnton and the South Carolina Synod of the Lutheran Church.
